Christmas in July

I love doing Christmas in July.
We read Christmas stories, watch some Christmas movies, listen to Christmas music, . . .
So fun.
We decided that we needed to add Christmas deliveries and caroling.
We thought of some of the people here that have helped us, or who need a surprise.
I wrote this poem which we attached to Christmas cookies (the boys painted them with egg yolk and food coloring, then we cooked them. Sweet and fun.)

The Christmas season comes once a year
Filled with hope and wishes of cheer.
The busy days move quickly by
Then, it’s all over. We heave a sigh.

Exhausted perhaps, and ready to move on,
But will all that Christmas cheer be gone?
Will people greet and smile, give and share,
Chat with a stranger, show they care?

Yes, many do—they know Christ’s love.
It is they who bring with them hope from above
Down to God’s children, here on earth.
Everyday they remember Christ’s birth;

The gift of His life; His example for us;
His constant watch; in whom “we trust”.
The Christmas spirit lives on each day.
Hope burns bright, as we are shown the way.

This “Christmas in July” we want to Thank you
For your Christmas spirit, shown all the year through.

We sang , "We wish you a merry summer, We wish you a merry summer,. . . happy Christmas in July!"
Our Friends, the Treadwell family, made some of the deliveries with us.
It was such a great time.
I think we brightened a few days, and certainly made ours memorable.

I am so grateful for all of our family and friends. I wish we could have dropped by some of your houses with a treat. The poem certainly applies to all of you!!

(maybe we'll need a little Easter in August ... hmmm.)
